5 W. S. / 24b -104

(5 Watt Sender)

The 5WS is a 2-tube general purpose, medium frequency, low-power transmitter was contained in a case of light metallic alloy. It is often seen in many period photos, accompanied by a Torn. E.b or a Spez 445 BS receiver. It is one of the most attractively designed pieces of equipment in the use of the German military during WWII. The model displayed here is an early 1937 dated transmitter. The Waffenamt stamps on it are of the Weimar Reichsheer period.
